Dr. Matthew H. Mahoney

Dr. Matthew H. Mahoney is board-certified by both the American Board of Dermatology and the American Board of Pediatrics. He completed his residency in dermatology at Eastern Virginia Medical School in 2007. During his training, he received specialty training in pediatric dermatology with Dr. Judith Williams, a respected clinician and researcher in the field of pediatric dermatology. Dr. Mahoney also trained under Dr. Antoinette Hood, a well-known dermatopathologist and clinician who also specializes in vulvar disorders.  He worked closely with Dr. David Pariser, President of the American Academy of Dermatology, who is a leading clinical researcher in psoriasis therapies and hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating).

Prior to dermatology residency, Dr. Mahoney taught pediatrics to residents and medical students at All Children’s Hospital in downtown St. Petersburg. He is board-certified in pediatrics, having completed a pediatric residency at the University of South Florida and All Children’s Hospital.

Dr. Mahoney attended medical school at Eastern Virginia Medical School, where he received his M.D. He has bachelor’s degrees from Virginia Tech in Biology and English.
